Riso Scotti was founded in 1860 in Pavia, Italy.
Today, we are still family owned and operated: the fifth generation of the Scotti Family, Angelo Dario Scotti, is currently leading the company.
Grateful for over 150 years of knowledge, we dispense our skills, traditions and care into giving you the finest grains for making authentic Italian risotto.
Riso Scotti is located in the northwest of Italy, in the Lombardy region, a few kilometers from the city of Pavia and 30 kilometers from the city of Milan.
The area between Milan and Pavia is the most important Italian rice cultivation area, together with Vercelli and Novara (Piedmont region).
Today, Riso Scotti is proud to maintain the traditions of its ancient mill for over 150 years.
Our machineries are modern but still inspired by the traditional “mola”.
With its conic shape, the modern mola delicately dehusks rice, giving lustrous and bright grains. This process prevents damage to the grains and maintains all their nutritional properties.
Bivio Vela is a new modern production center located in the city of Pavia in northwest Italy.
The 135,000-square meter facility is designed for production, packaging and new product development.
Riso Scotti represents Italian rice and its tradition all over the world.
We are proud to sell our products in 85 countries.
We are known as the “Italian Leader” in risotto rice-based products. In fact, in Italy we have a market share of 28% for Arborio Rice, 24% for Carnaroli Rice and 18% for rice-based drinks*. (source: IRI Dec. 2018)
